Plantation Island in Fiji’s beautiful Mamanuca (mama-nu-tha) Group situated to the north west of Nadi International Airport provides the perfect Pacific setting for Ocean Swimming, warm clear waters, pristine reefs, colourful tropical fish and coral, all against a backdrop of blue ocean and the jagged peaks of distant islands.
There are two swims on the first competition day (Saturday). The feature event, is a 3 km out-and-back course along the northern shore of Plantation Island off Plantation and Lomani Island Resort. There is also a 1.5 km event. There are overall and age group prizes for both events
On the Sunday, there will be the Fiji 10 km Ocean Swim, which will follows a clockwise course around Malololailai (Plantation) Island. This event is open to individuals and teams of 5 swimmers and the individual 10km swim will double as the Fiji National Open Water Championships. The 5 x 2km relay runs concurently with the 10km Individual over a 2km course set off Plantation and Lomani Beaches.
Plantation and Lomani Island Resorts offer a variety of accommodation options, restaurants, bars, great beaches and a wide range of activities. Getting there is easy. Pacific Sun operates several flights daily from Nadi International Airport to the Island’s air strip.
